How do you find a good profitable niche for an online business.

 Search Engines and Article Marketing.

Article marketing is a big part of affiliate marketing and keyword research had a lot to do with search engine rankings, especially Google. When trying to find a profitable niche it is necessary to keep in mind the keywords used and how well those keywords will rank in the search engine.   With that in mind I'm hearing a good bit lately that Google may be changing how they rank pages in a search query. No one seems to know for sure what they may do but rumors are they will be giving a bigger priority to content within pages on a website. Personally that sounds pretty good for article marketers and bloggers.   No mater what changes Google will make remains to be seen, but it's still critical that we play their game. Whatever they decide one tactic still holds true with improving search engine ranking, and that’s article marketing.   So how do you find a good profitable niche to write an article or blog about. Here are some of the things I do search that have given me some good ideas when looking for a profitable niche.   9 Ideas to help your find a profitable niche.
  1. Check Your Hobbies & Skills. Obviously the first place to look. Things you like and even things you dislike. What is important to you. Marketing and writing about things you are passionate about will come very easy.
  2. Google Trends and Search Correlation. When trying to find a profitable niche I really like and use the correlation function on the Google trend site. Throw a few keyword in that and it returns some very interesting ideas.
  3. ClickBank, Commission Junction, Shareasale, even Amazon... Just browse through the offers. If something catches your eye then do a little research as see if it is something worthwhile to spend some time promoting. Check the comments on the Amazon pages.
  4. Check the top 20 book list in stores or online. They often are on subjects that that may be worthwhile to research and promote. These will often provide clues as to niches that you can quickly start to take advantage of a current hot market. Go back and put some of those subjects in the Google Search Correlation function.
  5. While in a store take a look at all those magazines. Each one is published for a particular interest or niche in our society. You may find a profitable niche by checking the articles within that breaks down that interest even further.
  6. Check Ebay Pulse...it shows the most popular selling items. You can even break that down into top items in specific categories. Also check the "most watched" section. You can get some good ideas and find a profitable niche there.
  7. Ask a kid or college student. I know one lady that made a bucket full of money when her child came home with a certain style of rubber bracelet. College students are often up on the latest fads, fashions, and other popular interest and ideas.
  8. Visit Squidoo. I really like Squidoo and suggest you use it in your marketing efforts. It's totally free. Visit many of their lenses. You can find something on almost any subject. Check out the 3rd party adds on each page. They often relate in one way or another to the topic of the lens.
  9. Hang Out at a mall or shopping center. Look at any unique gift displays and specialty shops. Note trends. What folks are buying in those little niche stores will be the same types of things someone will buy online.
What to do after your search for a profitable niche. Once you believe you have found a profitable niche then it's time to check your competition. Do a google search to see how others are promoting the product. Use the Google Adwords Tool to see which keywords will be less competitive. Use the competitive research tool and phrase builder found in Wealth Affiliate University   To have a profitable niche you don't want to have to try to compete with high ranked competitive keywords. Be diligent. With good research and a good marketing plan you will eventually find a good profitable niche to write or blog about to make some very good money on the internet.   Are you new to Affiliate Niche Marketing?
